Volunteer Mississippi (Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service) and Blue Magnolia Films guided AmeriCorps members in the use of documentary storytelling tools and techniques to develop the The Many Faces of Service collection.
The collection highlights the outstanding leadership of our members and shows how storytelling (both written and produced in the first-person) can empower change in communities. Sharing stories helps our volunteers and the communities they serve to build on common values together.
Volunteer Mississippi engages Mississippians of all ages and backgrounds in service to their communities. Each year, our AmeriCorps members are among more than 75,000 Americans engaged in intensive, results-driven leadership.
Whether they are teaching children to read, making neighborhoods safe, building affordable homes, or responding to natural disasters, our AmeriCorps members are helping us to grow Mississippi’s story and increase the value volunteerism throughout the state.
