Volunteer Mississippi hosted a virtual recruitment fair on July 15, 2020.  The event showcased all AmeriCorps Mississippi Programs and included opportunities to interact with program leaders.

Are you someone who takes the lead?  Runs to take on a challenge while others wait for a solution?  Do you want to help Mississippi communities get back up and running after the pandemic while earning money for educational expenses, and gaining professional skills?  AmeriCorps programs in Mississippi are looking for individuals to be the greater good and get things done!  Are you ready to accept the challenge?  You can still hear all about the benefits of serving in AmeriCorps by following the links below.

Volunteer Mississippi awards AmeriCorps State grants to organizations throughout the state addressing Mississippi's greatest needs.  AmeriCorps programs offer individuals a unique opportunity to improve communities through service.  State-administered AmeriCorps programs offer skills training, continuing education, and other benefits that enable members to serve local needs better while gaining valuable work experience. Full-time AmeriCorps members earn a modest living stipend and are eligible for health insurance. In some cases, childcare assistance, and all AmeriCorps members earn an education award upon completion of their term of service.

AmeriCorps members devote a year of their lives to make a difference; they're serving in schools and after-school programs as tutors and mentors, providing resources, and nutritional education to address food security issues and healthy living lifestyles, completing rehabilitation of affordable homes, and connecting veterans and family members of active military personnel to available resources. Members create lasting change by recruiting local leaders and volunteers and training them to enact change in their neighborhoods.
