Volunteer Mississippi Celebrates the Retirement of Commissioner Azeez
On Thursday, February 8, the Volunteer Mississippi Board, staff, and friends celebrated the retirement of Commissioner Roktabija “Abdul”-Azeez. Commissioner Azeez was a founding member of the Mississippi Commission for Volunteer Service and has held a seat on the Commission throughout the duration of the agency’s history. He’s given his entire career to service, also serving as the State Director for the Corporation for National and Community Service in Mississippi, and with ACTION, the predecessor to the Corporation. We’ve been lucky to have Commissioner Azeez on our Board and as a great friend to national service, and we wish him well in his retirement!
